Our VAT Service

VAT (value added tax) is a tax paid on all transactions by all VAT-registered businesses or self employed individuals. The way it works is that the business/ self employed individual pays VAT on all the goods and materials it buys and it also charges VAT on all the goods it sells. At the end of each month or quarter, the business/ self employed individual then works out all the VAT it has paid out to its suppliers and all the VAT it has received from its customers. The difference is paid over to HM Revenue & Customs.

Whether you are a self employed individual or run a small business we can help you take control of your VAT and Customs Duty affairs, helping you make savings and improve cash flow. We will provide you with advice on what can and cannot be claimed, ensuring that you do not pay anymore VAT than you are required.

Our job is to make dealing with VAT less stressful for you, so will advise you about what records to keep and how long to keep them for.

Our service typically includes:

  • VAT Advice
  • VAT Registration
  • VAT Planning
  • Preparation of VAT return
  • Preparation of Intrastat return
  • Preparation of EC Sales List

If you decide to appoint a VAT adviser to help you with an enquiry, you’ll need to fill in form 64-8 to authorise HMRC to speak directly with your adviser.
